Bethany Dennis
Bethany Dennis is a Research Associate at Newcastle University in Prof. Andrew Jackson’s research group, Newcastle’s representative in the MRC CoRE in Restorative Neural Dynamics.
She obtained her BSc in Biology from Liverpool John Moores University before completing an MRes and a PhD in Neuroscience at Newcastle University. Her doctoral research focused on rodent and human brain slice models of schizophrenia, investigating how pharmacological manipulations can induce and modulate disordered brain states.
Bethany is currently working on the ARIA‑funded Precision 4D Control project, where she conducts in vitro mouse and human brain slice experiments. Her work aims to achieve cell‑type‑specific, closed‑loop control of cortical circuits by combining novel spatial‑ and frequency‑based current stimulation paradigms.
