Philippa is the Head of Operations for the MRC CoRE RND. She works alongside the Operational Support Team to oversee all aspects of CoRE implementation including governance, stakeholder engagement, financial management, risk, communications, partnerships, and strategic development. She also has a strong interest in environmental sustainability.
Philippa has held a variety of management roles within research-intensive environments, with a particular focus on large programmes and complex partnerships within the UK and internationally. Before moving to Oxford she worked at Imperial College London, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Royal Society. Prior to joining NDCN in July 2026 Philippa spent three years at the University of Oxford's Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) where she helped to establish the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative, a major strategic partnership between PSI, Science for Africa Foundation, and Mastercard Foundation. She holds a BSc in Geography from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Public Policy & Management from SOAS, University of London, and the ACCA Certificate in Public Financial Management.
